Split Fee
A placement fee shared between two recruitment agencies that collaborated on filling the same vacancy.
A split fee is a placement fee that two agencies agree to share when they work together on the same vacancy. Typically one agency holds the client relationship and the other supplies the successful candidate, and the fee is divided on terms both sides agree in advance.
The split is a private commercial arrangement between the two agencies. Common splits are 50/50 but the ratio, invoicing responsibility and rebate handling are always for the two parties to decide.
Why it matters
Split fee working lets an agency say yes to more of the briefs it receives. Instead of turning down a vacancy outside its niche or geography, it can partner with a specialist and share the fee, turning otherwise lost revenue into billed work.
On Recruitment Supplier
Recruitment Supplier is built around split fee collaboration. Job Shares are advertised on split fee terms agreed directly between the two agencies. Recruitment Supplier does not take a percentage of the fee.
